The airport is in developed by Zurich International Airport with Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Jewar International Airport in Gautam Buddha Nagar has successfully taken its test flights and is scheduled to become officially operational in the next few months.

Noida International Airport is the first in India to have 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) in the aviation industry.  

Flight Testing Validation  

On Monday, December 09, 2024, Noida International Airport completed its validation flight testing. It was carried out using an Indigo A320 passenger aircraft, which took off at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) and landed at Noida International Airport in Jewar.

The YEIDA has purchased land to enable the construction of the airport, and not a single court case or farmer protest has been reported. This has become a benchmark in the country as a model of conflict-free land acquisition.
